**Curl Talk With…
And you are? Hey, I’m LaQuisha Hall. (o:
How long have you been on your Natural Journey? I’ve been reconnected with my Natural Hair going on 15 months.
Why did you decide to go Natural? I decided to RETURN being Natural again because chemically straightened hair wasn’t for me. The maintenance, lack of knowledge (at the time), the scalp burns and scabs, the smell of the chemicals, the breakage, and the expenses! sheesh, Need I say more?!. It was just a hot mess! My hair was always over processed or under processed, so I just finally gave it all up and BIG Chopped on May 22nd 2010! Whoop! (o:
What is your current regimen and what are your favorite products? Let’s see, my regimen consists of me (alternating) shampooing my hair with a Sulfate free shampoo once every other month and an ACV/BS Rinse once a month (typically the last Sunday). I pre-poo (with oil/honey) before and deep condition/steam after every shampoo/rinse. Over the weekend (mainly Sundays) I’ll hot oil treat and co-wash with my VO5 (except when I shampoo). Detangle once a month with a tool, and any other time with my fingers. I Protective style my hair weekly/biweekly. In the morning I mist my hair with water and at night I mist and depending on how it feels, moisturize/seal then throw on my bonnet or wrap it up. I dust my ends when needed.
As a resigned PJ (Product Junky), I have a few favorite (staple) products…

What is the best thing about being Natural? I can say the absolute best thing about being Natural is that I can change my hair up when ever and however I want and at the end of the day it’s still there… Naturally. No chemicals, no hassles, no problems! ohhh and 9 times out of 10 there is NEVER any bad hair days! lol.
Any words of encouragement for the newbies? Hmm, MY encouraging words?. Let me just put it like this,.. your Natural hair has been given to you for a reason. You can love your Natural hair, hate it, accept it, or deny it, but at the end of the day it will continue to grow out of your scalp and prove to you that there’s nothing,.. NOTHING that can replace it. I encourage all newbies to be patient, research, experiment to learn about your hair and how take control of how it behaves, looks, smells, feels and the overall health of it. Think of your Natural hair as a lifestyle… not a journey, because of course some journeys tend to end, and you should want this change to last forever. Have FUN, and just remember you weren’t born with any other hair, so don’t EVER think that YOUR Natural Hair isn’t for YOU! Ohhhh & NEVER compare YOUR hair to others, it’s yours… not theirs!
