Just a Little Bit of YouTube’n.

Good Morning Dolls!

Last night I started my very own YouTube Channel. I am excited yet nervous about this new venture but I hope to help and inspire fellow curlies out there. I am always getting asked about particular styles that I wear, and sometimes my words just don’t explain it right, lol. So I decided a YT channel is the best way to connect with my readers and bring my words to life!

My first video is just a quick Intro of who I am and why I created the channel mixed with my Night Time Routine.  –>> Link.

My second video is my Twist Out Take Down. (the look in the photo above)  –> Link.

Don’t Forget to LIKE, COMMENT and SUB ! ^_^

Lessons from my Tresses….

To obtain healthy hair it is important to become attuned with it so that you can care for it properly. It took plenty of trial and error for me to learn what works for me. Right now I’m probably still doing things that I will realize are mistakes later on down the line. Anyways, here are 5 of the lessons that I have learned from my tresses (so far)…

#1. Dont even think about getting in the bed without that satin bonnet on! —– I can’t tell ya’ll how many times I have gotten in the bed without my bonnet on and woke up in the morning with my hair matted to my head, dry and thirsty. Sleeping without a satin bonnet or a satin pillowcase makes for a bad hair day the next day and that aint what ya want, Trust me!

#2. When it’s time to get a fill-in on those accrylic nails- Get A Fill-In!—-Whenever I try to stretch out the time between fill-in’s, without a doubt it happens– I snag my hair on a nail and it breaks. This has happened to me more than once, and its the absolute worse. When I’m not wearing accrylic nails I dont have to worry  because I bite my natural nails before they even have a chance to grow. (Its a nasty habit I know- but dont you dare judge me. lol)

#3.Failed styling attempts make the best hair styles.—– So far my best hair styles have come from failed attempts to do something completly different. Don’t freak out if your hair doesnt turn out exactly the way you envisioned it or saw on youtube (more about that later), work with what ya got, you’ll be surprised at  how cute it turns out.

#4. Youtube, natural hair blogs, etc are great!, but not all of the advice, product reviews, and styling tutorials will work for you. —-and that’s okay. I can say for sure that I would not have stayed on this journey if it wasnt for youtube and natural hair blogs (like this one) but not all of the information will apply to you personally, take what you can use and leave the rest. Don’t be discouraged if the hair style that you saw on youtube turns out to be a tragedy when you attempt it. That person’s hair could be longer, shorter or a different texture than yours; take those things into account.

#5. When all else fails, keep it simple or do a protective style. I must admit that over the past year there was a couple of times when I became frustrated with my hair. I have yet to find a protective style that works for me, so during these occasions I usually K.I.S.S. (Keep it simple stupid- my grandad says that all the time lol) My signature hair style is a twist-out so when I’m too tired to fool with my hair or when my creative juices just wont flow, a twist-out it is. Hopefully this winter I will fall in love with a protective style, Temoura has featured some really cute ones on here that I want to try :).

Hugs & Hearts,

Danie
